PUEBLITO BOYACENSE

LOCATION 

Pueblito Boyacense is a beautiful place located in Duitama in the department of Boyacá. To get to Pueblito Boyacense from Bogotá, take a bus from the northern terminal or Salitre terminal to Duitama and the ticket costs $7 USD with a journey of approximately 3 hours, the other option is private transportation for greater comfort.

GENERAL INFORMATION

This place was declared cultural and tourist heritage of Boyacá in 2006, it is a Boyacá architectural sample that shows the most beautiful towns in the department of Boyacá such as: Villa de Leyva, Tibasosa, Tenza, Sáchica, El Cocuy, Monguí and Ráquira.

Each replica of these towns has 16 houses, each with the architecture of the town it represents.

The buildings highlight important aspects such as the clay tile, the cobblestone, the low, the armadillo of its walls, the round wood, the chuzque, the wooden balconies, the tornado, the saddlebag and the lanterns.

Let's talk about each town:

Villa de Leyva: Surprising for its colonial architecture.

Tibasosa: it is known as “the garden of Boyacá and one of its representative products is the Freijoa with which juices and desserts are made, among others.

Tenza: It is famous for the development of the craft production of its inhabitants, dedicated to the manufacture of baskets made with wicker, bamboo, fique and horsehair, hence its just reputation as an "artisanal municipality".

Sachica: It is dedicated to the cultivation of big-headed onions. They call it “The Jerusalem of Colombia”.

El Cocuy: one of its most visited tourist attractions is the El Cocuy National Natural Park, where the Sierra Nevada del Cocuy is located, it has the largest glacier in the country.

Mongui: Considered the land of the ball in Colombia, it has a beautiful colonial aspect in its urban center.

Raquira: Its crafts are emblematic and you should visit the Monastery and the Candelaria desert.
